TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The 3rd Annual Prince Hall Shriners Foundation Diabetes Classic will feature the Florida A&M Rattlers and the Delaware State Hornets, on Sat., October 1, at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The Rattlers are coming off an inspirational come-from-behind victory, while the Hornets are trying to regroup after a devastating 69-0 loss, at the hands of the South Carolina State Bulldogs in Orangeburg, S.C.
The matchup appears to represent two teams with a host of similarities. The Rattlers and Hornets are both 2-2 overall, with one loss in MEAC play.
FAMU Athletics has teamed up with the Prince Hall Shriners Foundation to put together a full weekend of activities. The goal of the partnership with the Prince Hall Shriners is to raise awareness about the devastating effects of diabetes, which disproportionately affects people of color. Events such as a health fair, a parade, a tailgate and a welcome reception.
