SUNTER, S.C. – The Florida A&M men's Tennis team
continued to roll with a resounding victory over conference foe, the
University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The Rattlers won the match 7-0,
while continuing to roll at the MEAC Round-up at the Palmetto Tennis
Center.
In the top seat of the doubles competition, Temuera
Asafu-Adjaye and
Maurice Wamukowa defeated Emmash Sudusing and Osvaldo
Rivera 8-0. In the second seat
Levan Clark and Ivan Umnikov defeated
Marquette Robinson and Richard Warren 8-0. In the third flight of
doubles action,
Marc Atkinson and
Fabrice Myrtil defeated Dorian Thomas
and Malcolm Johnson 8-4, giving FAMU the doubles point.
In
singles action, the Rattlers dominated the Hawks 63-3 to win all
points.
Levan Clark won the No.1 position 6-0, 6-0 over Emmash
Sudusingc. In the No.2 position, Ivan Umnikov defeated Marquette
Robinson 6-0, 6-0. In position No.3,
Maurice Wamukowa and Dorian
Thomas' match was retired 3-0, as the Rattlers had already won the
necessary points to complete the victory before the match was finished.
In
position No.4,
Temuera Asafu-Adjaye defeatd Richard Warren 6-0, 6-0.
Fabrice Myrtil defeated Osvaldo Rivera 6-1, 6-0 in the No.5 position.
In position No.6,
Marc Atkinson defeated Malcolm Johnson 6-1, 6-1, for
the final point.
What's next for the Rattlers: The
Rattlers continue action in Norfolk, Va. on tomorrow with doubleheader
action. They take on tough competition in Hampton University and North
Carolina Central University, before returning to Tallahassee to fce
Nicholls State on Tuesday.
