FAMU outfielder
Jarryd Reid was announced as a member of the MEAC All-Conference first team today. Reid, had the second highest batting average on the Rattlers squad of everyday players, sporting a .367 average.
Reid also had 54 hits, scored 37 runs, six doubles, eight triples and four home runs. He carded 34 RBIs and 88 total bases. He amassed a .599 slugging percentage and a .447 on base percentage. A well-rounded player, Reid, known for his strong arm and fleet-footed ability to cover ground in the outfield, had 97 putouts, at a .962 success rate.
FAMU third baseman
Cory Franklin also made the All-MEAC second team. Franklin batted .326 for the Rattlers this season. He accumulated 60 hits and scored 33 runs. He also carded 13 doubles, six home runs and 40 RBIs. His slugging percentage was .495 and his on base percentage was .376.
The Rattlers will face the B-CU Wildcats at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Jackie Robinson Park in Daytona Beach, at the 2011 MEAC Baseball Championship.
