NORFOLK, VA (Jan.11) - Florida A&M junior Steve Emere was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, while Coppin State junior Sandra Bonga was named MEAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Emere (Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Sprints, Triple Jump) won the triple jump and 55m hurdles at the Ed Temple Classic, hosted by Tennessee State. Emere leads the nation with his mark of 52-06 ft. (16.00m) in the triple jump event.
