Taylor Ends Busy First Day With Full Team Practice

TALLAHASSEE,FL (Aug. 8) –The Florida A&M Football team hit the field for their first walk-through of their 2012 fall practice, here Wednesday afternoon at the Rattler practice field. That followed a busy day for head coach Taylor that publicly began at 6 a.m., when he appeared on WTXL NewsChannel 27, for an on-air interview with anchor Abbey Maurer and meteorologist Sean Parker. Taylor and sports information director Vaughn Wilson talked about opening day for football practice and Fan Day which takes place on Saturday.

"It was a good first day for a walk through.  Everyone came back to camp in shape and they know what is expected of them," said fifth-year head football coach Joe Taylor.

In their first segment of the practice, the Rattlers worked on special teams with emphasis on knowing assignment for punt and punt return teams. The team then worked on various drills by position and concluded the walk through with a team stretch.

FAMU will return to the field on Thursday, August 9 at 3 p.m. for their second walk through of the NCAA's mandated acclamation period.

FAMU will hold their annual Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alfred Lawson Jr., Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium. The ticket office will be open during Fan Day for anyone needing to purchase season tickets. For ticket information, please call (850)599-3141.
