NORFOLK, Va., May 29, 2013 - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2013 Baseball All-Academic selections, honoring 81 student-athletes, from the conference's 13 institutions who achieved academic success during the 2012-13 academic school year.
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
The four Rattlers who made the team are Heath Blackburn, David Duncan, Jaylin Earl and Bennie Robinson. Blackburn is a senior pitcher from Tallahassee, Duncan is a senior pitcher from Starke, Earl is a sophomore third baseman from Tampa and Robinson is a junior infielder from Ocala.
"I congratulate our baseball student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during this academic school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. “In addition to recognizing the student-athletes achievements, I also applaud the athletic academic support staffs, coaching staffs and all persons who contributed to the academic success of these student-athletes."
