FAMU Ladies Drop 2nd Game In Hatter Invitational;

DELAND, Fla. (Dec. 21) - The FAMU Women's Basketball team let a halftime lead slip away in the third quarter, en route to a 69-50 loss to Western Michigan in the Stetson University Hatter Invitational Tournament in the Edmunds Center on Friday afternoon.

The Rattler Women (2-8) held a 12-11 lead after the first period, and after a 15-15 scoring draw in the second, FAMU CLUNG TO A 27-26 lead.

But the FAMU shooting touch went cold in the third period, as the Broncos (5-5) outscored them, 24-9 to take control of the game at 50-36 headed into the final stanza.

WMU outpaced the Rattlers in the fourth quarter, 19-14 for the 69-50 final count.

FAMU was led by junior forward Dy'Manee Royal with a double double 13 point-10 rebounds effort, and freshman Mya Moye with 13 points, highlighted by a 3 for 4 shooting effort from distance.

Jasmyn Walker led the Broncos with 10 points.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR FAMU: The Rattlers will close their 2018-19 non-conference schedule, Dec. 28-30 in the University of Miami Invitational. They open on Friday, Dec. 28 against Miami at 7:00 p.m., then will tangle with Tulane University on Sunday, Dec. 30 at 3:00 p.m.
