Freshman guard Mya Moye was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday.
A former two-time City Player of the Year for Washington D.C.'s Anacosita High School, Moye scored 35 points in two games over the weekend, including a 22-point, five rebound, three assist effort against Howard University on Saturday. She also splashed a trio of three-pointers in that game.
Moye has started all 14 games for FAMU, leading the team in scoring overall at 12.1 points per game. She is shooting 34.4 percent (31 of 90) from three-point range, is averaging 2.3 rebounds, with 17 assists and 11 steals to date.
She has led the club in scoring in eight of the team's 14 games so far this season.
