FAMU Men Win Third In A Row At Morgan, 72-66

BALTIMORE, Md (Jan. 28) – The FAMU Men's Basketball team held off a late charge from host Morgan State for their third straight win, 72-66 at Hill Field House Monday night.

The Rattlers (8-14, 5-2 MEAC) took control of the bout from the opening tip, forging a 41-31 halftime lead, but had to use that 10-point edge to fend off the homestanding Bears, who outscored them 35-31 in second half.

Senior Justin Ravenel led FAMU with 19 points, splashing a trio of three pointers to give him 252 career made triples. Sophomore Kamron Reaves added 17 points and Isaiah Martin finished with 11 points and eight (8) blocked shots.

WHAT'S ON TAP:  The Rattlers, who are off to one of their best starts in MEAC play this season at 5-2, are very much in the hunt for their first-ever regular season title, but the next four games – all at home – will provide a major challenge to those title dreams.

FAMU, which is tied for third with North Carolina Central after Monday's action, will start the four-game gauntlet Saturday against second place North  Carolina A&T at 4:00 p.m., followed by Monday's ESPNU game against NCCU (7:00).

First place Norfolk State comes to Lawson for another ESPNU game two weeks from tonight (Feb. 11 – 7:00 p.m.), after a Saturday, Feb. 9  clash against the Howard Bison at 4:00 p.m.
