TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Mar. 23) – The visiting Wofford College Terriers scored nine runs in the first four innings to take command early in taking a 14-11 decision from Florida A&M in a non-conference baseball contest at Moore-Kittles Field Saturday afternoon.
Wofford (17-8), finished the day with 15 hits, and built their early lead with two runs in the each of the first three innings, before adding three runs in the top of the fourth for a 9-1 lead/
The Rattlers (10-15) struck back in the bottom of the frame for five runs to close to 9-6, but the Terriers would plate five runs over the final four innings to take a 14-7 lead into the bottom of the ninth.
FAMU would score four runs in the inning but could get no closer.
Leading the Rattlers' 11-hit attack were Seyjuan Lawrence and Eric Blanc, who each had two hits. Blanc and Robert Robinson each finished with three RBIs, while Lawrence drove in a pair of runs.
FAMU starting pitcher Josh Hancock (2-2) took the loss, allowing nine runs on 10 hits with one strikeout in three and two-thirds innings.
