NORFOLK, Va. (May 15) – Six Florida A&M Baseball team members were voted to the 2019 All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference teams announced Wednesday morning.
Sophomore closer Jeremiah McCollum (Houston, Tex.) was a first-team selection after a stellar campaign during which he recorded 11 saves and posted a 4-2 record.
Junior outfielder Seyjuan Lawrence (Tampa, Fla.) was a second team selection, after hitting .295, with 40 runs scored, 57 hits, 12 doubles, one home run and 23 RBIs,
The FAMU quartet which were named to the third team included:
-Junior starting pitcher Josh Hancock (Altamonte Springs, Fla.), who went 5-5, with 49 strikeouts in 80.1 innings;
-Junior first baseman Tucker Rayburn (Minneola, Fla.), who hit .276, with nine doubles, three triples, four home runs and 27 RBIs;
-Junior second baseman Octavien Moyer (Navarre, Fla.), who led the team with a .322 average, while also topping the charts in runs scored (42), hits (65), doubles (12), home runs (6), total bases (97), and slugging percentage (.480);
-Freshman outfielder Jared Weber (Wakulla, Fla.), who hit .270, with a team-high 44 RBIs, to go with 55 hits, 33 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, one home run and 10 stolen bases (in 10 attempts).
