The first quarter proved to be a convincing match as the Green Team defense only allowed one TD of the quarter as Eddie Rocker punched in a one-yard run with 2:41 left in the first, that was set up by a 28-yard punt return by Terry Johnson.
The Orange Team offense would find their rhythm and score 21 points in second and the third quarter.
Al-Terek McBurse would score the Orange Team's first TD of the second quarter as he caught a 17-yard pass from Damien Fleming with 6:33 left in the quarter. Orange would score three minutes later as they took advantage of a Lenworth Lennon 25-yard punt return, setting up the Orange team's second TD of the quarter as Fleming would connect with James Owens on a three-yard pass with 3:00 to go in the game, giving the Orange Team a 21-0 lead after the Chase Varnadore PAT.
The Orange team would end the half with another score with Fleming connecting on a 69-yard bomb to Travis Harvey, giving the Orange Team a 28-0 lead going into the break.
The Orange team would score on the first drive of the third quarter as the Rattlers marched 53 yards on four plays as the tandem of Fleming and Harvey would connect once more on a five-yard reception with 4:37 to go in the quarter.
Owens and Lennon would score the next two TDs of the quarter to give the Orange Team a 49-0 lead as Owens scored on a three-yard run with 3:27 left in the game, while Lennon scored on a 64-yard punt return to close out the quarter with 43 seconds left in the third.
The Orange team would score their final points of the game on a safety for the 51-0 final.
FAMU will open their 2012 season next weekend as they travel to the Music City to take on Tennessee State in the 14th annual Big John Merritt Classic at LP field on Saturday, Sept 1 in a 6 p.m. CST start.
