Rattlers Hold Second Place Going Into MEAC Final Day

GREENSBORO, NC (May 5) – The Florida A&M Lady Rattlers took some solid second day performances to hold second place at the MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.

In the 3,000m steeple chase, junior Judith Kibii took second place in a time of 10:54.32.  Fridah Limo placed sixth in 11:39.50, while Caroline Kiplagat placed eighth (12:09.69) and Nicole Kvitkauskas (12:22.24) rounded out the top slots in 10th place.

Andrea Aaron took fourth place in the shot put with a heave of 13.40m (45-00).  She would repeat her placement in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.37m (146-11).  Banisha Johnson placed sixth in the hammer throw with an effort of 47.80m, while Shantell Johnson  (44.06M) and Alelee Figueroa (40.60m) took ninth and 10th places respectively.  

With a full slate of action on Saturday to close out the MEAC 2017 championship, the Lady Rattlers will be looking to surge in pursuit of the title.
