Clinton Fletcher brings 12 years of experience in coaching track and field to FAMU.  Fletcher looks to instill his hard work and dedication mindset to FAMU Track and Field. Coach Fletcher has earned the reputation of developing athletes into national contenders and into world class athlete’s. According to Fletcher, “there is so much love here at FAMU, the Fanatics and Alumni truly love and support the student athletes… I have been astounded by the emphasis Coach Moore has put into teaching student-athletes professionalism and preparing them for the competitive workforce”.

Coach Fletcher have recruited, coached, developed, and mentored athletes to great success.

  • Ø Isiah Young: Young went on to become the 2013 US Champion in the 200m, 2012 US Olympian, SEC Champion, and NCAA All-American.
  • Ø Jonathan Juin: Juin went on to earn All-SEC Honors and Holds the Hattian Indoor 55m and 200m Record.
  • Ø Keythra Richards: Under Fletcher, Richards earned the Bahamas National Championship in the triple jump and held the Under 20 Record Holder in the triple jump in 2009
  • Ø Cameron Parker: Parker jumped a PR 15.81 and won the 2009 NJCAA National Title in the Triple Jump.
  • Ø J’Vente Deveaux: Deveaux bounded a PR of 16.44 which garnered him an IAAF Ranking on the way to winning the 2011 NJCAA National Championship in the triple jump
  • Ø SOCON Conference Accolades: Coached 5 Conference Champions, 1 Most Outstanding Field Athlete; 1Freshman Athlete of the Year, and 5 SOCON All-Freshman Team Honorees
  • Ø Coached over 60 NJCAA All-Americans and 3 NJCAA National Champions.
  • Ø Coached 12 school records at Neosho County Community College, 7 school records at Samford University, and 33 school records at Allen County Community College.
  • Ø Earned the 2010 NJCAA Region VI Outdoor Coach of the Year Award.

 

Fletcher is a 2005 graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. While at Ole Miss Coach Fletcher competed in track and field. In 2004 Fletcher was part of the Ole Miss 4x400 team that finished 10th at the NCAA Indoor National Championships.

The Pine Bluff, AR native is engaged to Postenea Louisjeune. The future Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher have a 4-year-old son Clinton Jr. and a baby girl name Zhuri who will be arriving in February 2018.
