Rattlers Fall Sunday At Georgia Tech, 79-54

ATLANTA, Ga. (Dec. 17) – The FAMU Men’s Basketball team dropped a Sunday afternoon road bout to Georgia Tech, falling 79-54 in Alexander Coliseum.

Sunday’s setback was the eighth in a row for the road-weary Rattlers (1-13), which have played 12 of their first 14 games in November and December on the road, and it was their second straight game with leading scorer Marcus Barham, who has been sidelined with a knee injury.

The Rattlers trailed by just 13 points, 35-22 at the half despite 34 percent floor shooting to Tech’s 46 percent. However, Tech hit 4 of 7 three-pointers, while the Rattlers finished the opening period 1 for 6 from distance.

In the second half, Tech outpaced the Rattlers, 44-32, shooting 48 percent to FAMU’s30 percent from the floor.

Junior center Isaiah Martin led the way with 14 points and seven rebounds for FAMU, which got 11 points from freshman Bryce Moragne, 10 points from junior Justin Ravenel and nine rebounds from junior Nick Severado.

WHAT’S NEXT: The Rattlers will have one more game before Christmas, coming Thursday in New York City, as they take on the Fordham University Rams (7:00).
