Media Credentials

Press members affiliated with a professional media outlet applying for a Rattler Football Media Credential should contact Asst. Director of Sports information, Alvin Hollins at 850-599-3200 or no later than one week prior to the game for which you will provide media coverage to guarantee the credential request can be considered for approval. All media credential requests are subject to approval by the FAMU Athletic Sports Information Department.

All credential requests are now online. Contact Mr. Hollins for a passcode to apply for the credentials.

Season credentials will be honored to media organizations that intend to cover the Rattlers on a consistent basis. Media persons who cover all games are given precedence over single game coverage personnel.  The FAMU Sports Information Department expects season credential holders to cover every home game.

Because of the high demand of homecoming on an annual basis, FAMU Athletics cannot grant all requests. Instead, annual media personnel who cover all games will be given priority. In this case we will provide “pool” coverage of the homecoming game, as with several professional sports organizations.  We will provide an online storage space where we will populate photos, video and audio for the event.  These media assets will assist in coverage of the homecoming game where credentials are limited.

Daily credentials serve as a daily media pass to Bragg Stadium for individual games during the 2018 season.

All credentials may be picked up at the Bragg Stadium Will Call window with proof of photo ID on game days starting at 8 AM. Two hours prior to game time, the credentials will be transported to Bragg Memorial Stadium on the West side near Gate No.2.

Media credentials are intended to provide access solely to the bearer of the credential and not to any non-credentialed guests. FAMU Media Credentials are non-transferrable and may be revoked at any time at the discretion of the FAMU Media Relations Department. No abuse of the credential’s terms of use will be tolerated and credentials must be displayed (visible) at all times while operating in a media capacity at Bragg Stadium.

Player/Coaching Staff Interviews and Media Access.

All one-on-one interview requests should be submitted to the FAMU Sports Information Department 24 hours in advance of the anticipated interview in order to best accommodate the request.

All player and coaching staff interview request fulfillments are at the discretion and responsibility of the FAMU Sports Information Department and the player or coaching staff member. Rattler football players and coaches will not be available to the media during the pregame.

Absolutely no access to the home or visitor’s locker rooms before, during, or after the game without prior consent from Sports Information Director, Vaughn Wilson or Asst. SID Alvin Hollins. This includes all season credential holders.

Postgame access to Rattler football players and coaches will be made available following a mandatory 10-minute cooling-off period at the conclusion of the game, and in some cases the cool down period will exceed 10 minutes. Media members are asked to respect this policy and not take part in engaging players or coaches during this time.

The FAMU Sports Information Department will make every attempt to fulfill all reasonable and timely interview requests. A press conference room will be set up in the coaches’ area of the Galimore-Powell Field House for press conferences following each game.

Pregame Field Access

Credentialed media members will be granted access to the field (playing surface) during the pregame warmups up to one (1) hour prior to kickoff. The press is asked not to engage players and coaches until an appropriate time for interviews is identified by SID, Vaughn Wilson or Asst. SID Alvin Hollins. Again, absolutely no access to the playing field is allowed during the game. Designated sideline areas are clearly marked with a perforated white boundary line.
