Rattlers start the season at No.22 in CSN Poll
By: Florida A&M Sports Information

The College Sporting News has ranked the Florida A&M Rattlers No.22, on their Top 25 poll. The Rattlers were followed by Bethune-Cookman at No.23. South Carolina State and Grambling both received votes, but were unable to crack the Top 25.

The Rattlers return 17 starters this season and look to put the pieces together to make a run at the MEAC title.  The team finished the 2010 campaign on a 10-game winning streak, accented by a 38-27 victory over  the previously undefeated Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats in the Florida Classic.

Austin Trainor, who went undefeated leading the Rattler offense last season,  was named the starter in Spring drills, with a host of contenders for the No.2 spot.  Memphis transfer Tyler Bass, has shown his unique physical abilities under new quarterbacks coach Quinn Gray.

Eddie Rocker, got the nod a running back and will begin his quest to fill the shoes of Philip Sylvester, who is currently with the Atlanta Falcons for football training camp.

The ranking from the College Sporting News comes just a week after the Rattlers were picked to finish third in the MEAC, by coaches and sports information directors within the conference. CSN is the oldest and largest news service organization devoted solely to the FCS.
