TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Aug. 8) - Light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud stopped by to give a preseason pep talk to the Rattler Football team as they officially reported for camp today.  Head coach Joe Taylor invited Cloud to share his experiences in preparing for boxing matches, with the players who are preparing for battles of their own.

Cloud, spoke of his regimen, beginning with grapefruit for breakfast, when he is preparing for a fight.  Cloud hates grapefruit, but emphasized that its a sacrifice he makes in order to be at peak performance for his bouts.  "It's not easy…it requires commitment in your preparation," Cloud said.

This followed in a direct line, the theme Taylor has for his Rattler Football season.  "Success is an Inconvenience," is the theme for this season.

FAMU Director of Athletics, Derek Horne, took time to welcome the team as well.  FAMU head athletic trainer Akima Dina, went through the full treatment policies and procedures.  Strength and Conditioning coach Russell Barbarino also spoke before the athletes on the first day.  Barbarino has been working with the athletes since January, in maintaining and improving their physical condition.
