The Spartans used a total team performance to overcome the fierce run the Rattlers put on in the second half after being down by 21 points with just 7:40 remaining in the game. In the end, the Rattlers would pull to within seven points as the Spartans struggled down the stretch against a stiff Rattler press.
Amin Stevens led all scorers with 19 points and 15 rebounds to card a double-double. Yannick Crowder would add 15 points, while Avery Moore hit 11 and Reggie Lewis hit 10 to make up the Rattlers' four double-figures scorers.
Chris McEachin led the Spartans with 16 points on the night, including 3-of-7 from the three-point line. Pendarvis Williams scored 14, A.J. Rogers added 13 and Kyle O'Quinn chipped in 12 points. O'Quinn would add 10 rebounds for a double-double.
The Rattlers shot 34.5 percent on 10-of-29 shooting in the first half. In the second half they shot 42.1 percent on 16-of-38 shooting. In the game, they shot 38.8 percent from the field. The Rattlers also shot 38.1 percent from the three point line and 76.9 percent from the charity stripe.
The Spartans shot 44.4 percent in the first half and 40 percent in the second half, for a game total of 42.3 percent. The Spartans shot 28.6 percent from the three-point line and 86.7 percent from the free throw line.
The Rattlers will complete their regular season at home on Thurs., as they face the Morgan State Bears in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
