Lady Rattlers Take 5th Place At MEAC Championship

GREENSBORO, NC (May 6) - The Florida A&M Lady Rattlers track team continued to hold steady in the MEAC, with a second consecutive fifth place finish in the MEAC Outdoor Championship at the Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.

Leading the Lady Rattlers was Kinnesha Jones, who took first place in the triple jump with a leap of 12.23m (40-01.50) Jones would also take fifth place in the long jump at 5.54m (18-02.25).

Nakia Linson ran a blazing 11.63 in the 100m dash, garnering second place. Jasmine Smith added to the Lady Rattlers' totals with a fourth place finish in the javelin throw, with a toss of 35.85m (117-07).

Clariccia Golden paced the Rattlers in two of the distance events for FAMU. She took fifth place in the 5000m run in 19:29.38 and fifth as well in the 3000m steeplechase, with a time of 12:03.80.
