Jennifer Lindsey (15-8) picked her up third MEAC Tourney win as she pitched six innings, giving up one hit and striking out two in the 19 batters she faced, while Hedderly (18-12) received the loss for the Lady Tigers as she pitched three innings, giving up six hits, three earned runs and striking out two.
FAMU grabbed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as both Donaldson and Tera Gainer scored on a Genesis Lopez single. Then Lopez would score on a Lady Tiger infielder's error.
The Lady Rattlers pushed across three more runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the bottom of the sixth for 8-0 win, invoking the eight-run after six innings of play.
SSU finishes the season with a 26-24 record, whereas FAMU raises their to 27-28 and will face Hampton in a loser's bracket semifinal, today at 6 p.m. The Lady Pirates handed the Lady Rattlers their first loss of the 2012 MEAC Tourney last night. Hampton fell into the loser's bracket with a 3-2 loss to Bethune-Cookman.
