Jamie Adams Named MEAC Player Of The Week

NORFOLK, Va. - Florida A&M's Jamie Adams was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Player of the Week the conference announced on Monday. Coppin State's Patrick Cole earned Rookie of the Week honors while Du'Vaughn Maxwell, of Hampton, was named Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Adams (G, 5-10, 166, Jr., Chicago, Ill.) averaged 23.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.5 steals in two wins last week. Against South Carolina State Adams scored 28 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists and stole five passes. He followed that performance with 18 points, one rebound, four assists and two steals against Maryland E. Shore.

Cole (G, 6-5, 190, Fr., Newark, N.J.) scored 29 points with six rebounds and one assist in a 67-65 win over Hampton. He also recorded 17 points with six rebounds and one steal against N.C. Central. For the week Cole averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 0.5 assists.

Maxwell (G/F, 6-7, 215, Jr., Manhattan, NY) recorded back-to-back double digit rebounding performances in two conference games last week. Against Coppin State Maxwell grabbed 11 boards, blocked two shots and stole one pass. He also hauled in 10 rebounds, with two blocks and one steal against Norfolk State. Offensively Maxwell amassed 27 points and one assist for the week.

Other Top Performances

Andre Armstrong (CSU) averaged 22.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 41.5 minutes per game to lead the Eagles to a 1-1 finish last week.

Emanuel Chapman (NCCU) recorded 13 assists with eight points, three rebounds and three steals in an 84-75 win over Coppin State.

Adrien Coleman (B-CU) averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 block and 0.5 steal in two conference games last week.

Jamel Fuentes (NSU) averaged 6.5 assists, 4.0 steals and 4.0 rebounds in two conference wins over Morgan State and Hampton.

Rashad Hassan (SSU) scored 17 points, hauled down four boards, blocked two shots and stole one pass in a win over South Carolina State.

Dewayne Jackson (MSU) collected a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds in a 55-52 win over North Carolina A&T.

Trey Kellum (FAMU) recorded a double-double of 18 points, connecting on 7-of-10 from the field, and 11 rebounds against South Carolina State.

Emmanuel Okoroba (Hampton) averaged a double-double for the week with 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds to lead the Pirates to a 1-1 finish last week.

Marques Oliver (DSU) recorded a career-high 24 points with six rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals against Bethune-Cookman.

Deron Powers (Hampton) collected 20 points and 14 assists, including 11 against Coppin State, in two conference games last week.

Pendarvis Williams (NSU) averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal as he led the Spartans to a pair of conference wins last week.
