Lady Rattlers Holding Steady In 5th Place at MEAC

PRINCESS ANNE, MD (Feb.15) - After two days of competition, the FAMU Lady Rattlers are holding the No.5 position, gathering 26 points in the MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championship t the Prince George S&L Complex in Princess Anne, MD.

Powered by a No.2 finish by middle distance runner Ariel Allen, the Lady Rattlers are in position to make a run at the conference title with Saturday's conclusive round. Allen finished the 800m dash in 2:11.91 to score for FAMU. Chandelic Jackson would take a No.16 finish in the same race.

Nakia Linson took third place in the long jump, carding a leap of 5.79m (19:00-00. Teammate Kinnesha Jones took sixth place, leaping 18:00.50 in the process.
The Lady Rattler distance medley relay team finished fourth, clocking a time of 12:34.06. The team was Jackson, Dynasty Jones, Allen and

Kosgei. Kosgei would also finish sixth in the 5000m run, finishing in 19:02.13. Cynthia Chelelgo took eighth place in 19:14.27, Zenia George finished 12th in 20:00.41 and Clarricia Golden placed 13th in 20:03.05.

The Lady Rattlers will attempt to close the gap on the leaders Saturday at the conclusion of the 2013 MEAC Indoor Championships.
