Hunter Barfield, led the Rattlers from the plate with two hits. Sylvester Peck, Evan Dupree and Bryce Farrar carded the only other hits with one each. Peck and Farrar would cross the plate representing FAMU's two runs.
Bryan Neal had a solid outing until the seventh inning. He pitched seven and one-third innings, allowing eight hits, four runs, one earned run, one walk and struck out three. Tony Covington pitched in relief, going two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run on two walks.
The Knights were paced by Erik Hempe and Parker Webster who carded two hits each. The Knights also left eight runners on base and committed one error.
Eric Skoglund started the game for the Knights on the mound. He went five and one-third innings, allowing five hits, two runs, two walks and five strike outs. Zac Favre, who got the win for UCF, mowed the Rattlers down, getting nine strikeouts in just three and two-thirds innings.
What's Next: The Rattlers head to Tampa to play a three game series with the USF Bulls, starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
