MURRAY, Ky. (Dec. 2) - The FAMU Men's Basketball team wrapped up a five-game, 13-day road trip here Saturday night, with an 80-59 setback to the Murray State University Racers at the CFSB Center.
FAMU (1-9) battled the Racers tightly in the first half, leading 12-9 on a pair of Brendon Myles free throws with 11:52 left, before the Racers went on an 11-0 run to take control of the game for good at 20-12 with 9:03 left, on a layup by Ja Morant,
Murray woukld build a 42-27 lead by halftime, then outpaced the Rattlers, 38-32 in the second half to close out the game.
Senior forward Desmond Williams led all scorers in the game with 22 points for FAMU, on 10 of 19 shooting, while pulling down seven rebounds. Senior guard Marcus Barham added 14 points, while junior center Isaiah Martin had a game-high nine rebounds.
Murray State (5-1) was led by Shaq Buchanan with 21 points and five rebounds, followed by Terrell Miller, Jr., with 17 points and Ja Morant with 12 points.
WHAT'S NEXT: FAMU will take on Mercer University in Macon, Georgia next Saturday at 4:00 p.m., before hosting North Florida on Monday, Dec. 11 at 7:00 p.m.
