OXFORD, Ohio (Dec. 21) – The FAMU Women's Basketball team dropped a 73-33 road decision at Miami of Ohio in Millet Hall Thursday night.
After trailing 19-14 at the end of the first quarter, FAMU scored just four points in the second, to trail 36-18 at the half. The Rattlers shot 30 percent (8 of 26) in the first half, while the Redhawks (8-3) shot 52 percent (15 of 29) from the floor.
The second half was more of the same for FAMU, which shot 6 of 20 (30 percent) from the field, going 0 for 6 from three-point range, leading to just five points in the third period and 10 in the fourth quarter.
Junior center Shalunda Burney-Robinson with seven points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Florence Ouattara and sophomore Taylor Darks each had six points, while senior Dawn King added four points. Senior Shakeyrra Morrison led FAMU with nine rebounds.
