FAMU TRACK TEAMS GRAB TOP FIVE FINISHES AT MEAC

LANDOVER, Md. (Feb. 17) - The FAMU Women and Men’s Track teams recorded Top Five finishes in their respective divisions at the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Prince George Learning Complex.

The FAMU Women scored 96.50 points to place third behind North Carolina A&T (173.50) and Bethune-Cookman (111), while the Rattler Men, in their first championship competition in three years after APR sanctions, finished fifth with 56 points.

North Carolina A&T won the men’s title with 144 points, followed by Hampton (108), Bethune-Cookman (97.50) and Norfolk State (68.50)

FAMU’s David Too was named Most Outstanding runner in the Men’s Division for his singular performances in the mile, 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters.

By sweeping both the men’s and women’s indoor titles, North Carolina A&T State becomes the first MEAC school to repeat in both the men and women since Delaware State in 1987.
