By: Florida A&M Sports Information

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M University Department of Athletics received a Diowave 60-watt high power therapeutic laser, donated by Technological Medical Advancements. The donation was made on behalf of former FAMU head football coach, William “Billy” Joe, the late Coach Ben Coren and his son, Dr. Bruce Coren.

Dr. Coren is the CEO of the company.

“This is a class 4 laser device that stimulates tissue healing and tissue regeneration,” said Coren. “It will heal any tissue in the pathway of the laser beam. It will accelerate athletic recovery anywhere from 25 to 75 percent faster than normal healing.”

Multiple professional athletes have access to the technology as well The University of Michigan who owns three of the laser machines, and the defending Stanley Cup champion, St. Louis Blues.

“Florida A&M now has the best technology in the world to accelerate athletic injury recovery,” said Coren.
