DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 15) – The FAMU Baseball team will open their quest for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship at 12 Noon Wednesday in the 2018 MEAC Tournament set for Sliwa Stadium on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Inclement weather is expected through most of the week, which could alter the schedule.
FAMU (24-28) weighs in as the No. 2 Seed from the Southern Division, and they will face Northern Division No. 3 entry Maryland at Eastern Shore Wednesday at 12 Noon, in Game One of the tournament.
A Rattler victory would advance them to Thursday’s Game Five against Northern No. 1 Seed Coppin (Md.) State at 3:30 p.m., but a Rattler loss would drop them into the elimination bracket for a Wednesday night survivor bout against the loser of Wednesday’s 3:30 p.m. clash between Northern No. 2 seed Norfolk (Va.) State and Southern No. 3 seed Bethune-Cookman.
FAMU won their last MEAC title in 2015, and has won seven league titles since 1987.
