The Rattlers made significant improvement this year, narrowly losing by a six-stroke margin to the defending medalists, B-CU. Justin Still paced the Rattlers, finishing with scores of 71/71 on the weekend, for a total strokes count of 142.
Senior Shepherd Archie III finished second for the Rattlers in his final home tournament. Archie carded a 69 on Saturday, but could only manage a 75 on the final round, ending just two strokes behind Stills a 144.
Cody Sapp finished in 72/75 for the orange and green. His two day total was 147, which helped bolster the Rattlers' positioning in the overall tournament.
Randon Holt put together rounds of 80/73, while Anthony Phipps carded 80/74.
The highly-competitive tournament also included the Alabama State Hornets (587), Savannah State Tigers (592) and UMES Hawks (664).
For the first time, women's teams also competed in the spring invitational. ASU, B-CU and SSU all had teams to compete.
