The Bulldogs got on the board first with a sweep of the doubles competition. In the No.1 doubles position, Levan Clark and Salif Kante went down 8-6 to Peters Vinogradous and Artemiy Nikitin. In the No.2 slot, Chidi Gabriel and Takura Happy went down swining in a 9-8(6) loss to Dmytro Kovalevych and Anton Protsenko. The bright spot for the Rattlers was the win by Fabrice Myrtil and Temuera Asafu-Adjaye, 8-6, over Tomas Bizon and Young Lee.
Down 1-0 after the doubles match, the Rattlers prepared for what was sure to be a tough singles match against several o fthe best players in the conference.
In the No.1 slot, Clark defeated Bizon (6-3,6-3) to get the Rattlers on the board. In the No.2 slot, Kante defeated (6-1,6-3) Kovalevych to sweep the top two spots. The No.3 match was defaulted when Takura Happy was unable to compete due to injury, giving SCSU the point. At the No.4 position, Gabriel defeated Vinogradous (3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4)).
At that point in the match, the Rattlers were ahead 3-2, but defeats in the Nos. 5&6 slots, left the Rattlers with defeat once again at the hands of the Bulldogs. Asafu-Adjaye lost (0-6,6-2,6-1) and Myrtil lost (3-6,6-0,6-3) to Lee to close out the match.
