NORFOLK, VA (July 11) - The FAMU Lady Rattlers were selected to win the southern volleyball division of the MEAC this season. Their counter parts, the UMES Hawks, were selected to win the northern division. Both choices represent repeats of last season.

FAMU libero Karol Marques (Lima, Peru) was selected to the preseason All-MEAC team. The Lady Rattlers finished runners-up to the Hawks in last year's championship game, losing 3-2 in the championship match.
