FIU(15-13) finished the contest with a game-high 16 hits as the Panthers had five player to finish with two hits each.
FAMU (5-27) finished the contest with seven hits as Dylan West went three-for-three from plate to lead the Rattlers.
Logan Dodds (2-0) picked the win for the Panthers as he pitched five innings, allowing four hits and striking out six.
Thomas Barwick (0-6)received the loss as he recorded two and two-thirds innings on the mound giving up eight hits and five earned runs.
The Panthers grabbed an early 1-0 lead as Oscar Aguirre scored on a Nathan Burns single to the left side in the bottom of the second inning.
FIU added to their lead in the bottom of the third inning on back-to-back homers as Mike Martinez hit a two-run blast, followed by a solo homer to left field by Jabari Henry. A FAMU error would score both Burns and Julius Gaines and T.J Shultz would score on a bases loaded walk, giving the Panthers an 8-0 lead.
The Panthers picked up three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Aramis Garcia scored on a Oscar Aguirre triple to right field. Aguirre would score on a wild pitch. Burns would score FIU's third run of the inning as he tripled in his at-bat on a Shantz sacrifice fly to right field, making the score 11-0 in favor of the Panthers.
Shantz added to FIU's lead in the bottom of the sixth inning as he singled to the left side scoring Gaines, making the score 12-0 in favor of FIU.
Henry scored his second run of the game as he scored on a Ryne Morozowski single to right side increasing the Panthers lead to 13-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, for the finale.
FAMU will return to action on Wednesday, April 4 as they will conclude their two-game series with FIU at FIU Baseball Stadium in a 6 p.m. start.
