Fang Awards Honored FAMU Student-Athlete Success

TALLAHASSEE,FL (April 26) - The FAMU Department of Athletics honored its student-athletes and coaches at the annual "Fang Awards," sports banquet at the Jake Gaither Gymnasium. All 18 of FAMU's sports were represented as athletic administrators celebrated the accomplishments of it's student-athletes for the 2011-2012 academic year.

The FAMU National Rattler "F" is always a highlight of the banquet, with their presentation of lettermen's jackets. This year, over 40 athletes received their jackets from the support organization. FAMU Sports Hall of Famer, and former football great Rudy Givens, as well as other members of the "F" Club, were on hand to deliver the jackets to the athletes.

FAMU Athletics game operations manager Rod Costin was the MC for the event. The night was started with a hearty dinner, followed by the awards presentation. The following awards were handed out (by sport):
