FROSTPROOF,FL (May 24) - The FAMU Athletics family would like to honor the memory of a fallen Rattler. Roosevelt "Baby Hop" Harper passed on May 24. While the circumstances around his passing are not immediately known, the Frostproof High School alum expired on May 24, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL.

Harper was an outstanding ball handler for the Rattlers from 1981-1983. The speedy guard could handle the ball as point guard or shoot with accuracy at the shooting guard position. The third of three brothers who played at FAMU, he added excitement to the Rattlers' fast-paced play.  He was preceded by elder brothers Willie (Football) and Bobby (Football/Basketball).

Harper earned All-State Class-A honors out of Frostproof High School. His court awareness and passing ability made him a highly-touted point guard.

Well-liked by his classmates, Harper was known for his infectious smile and sense of humor.

Services are set for Sat., June 2, at First Baptist Church, Maxcy Drive, Frostproof, FL. Arrangements are being handled by Epps Funeral Home (863)679-3777.
