NORFOLK, Va. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2017 Volleyball All-Academic Selections, honoring 66 student-athletes from the conference’s 13 institutions who achieved academic success during the 2016-17 academic year.
Eighteen (18) Rattlers were cited among the league's top academic achievers, including eight starters, which is a testament to the hard work put in by head coach Alex Wood and his staff, in conjuction with the FAMU Athletic Academic Support Staff, headed by Anthony Williams, to raise the academic success of the Rattler student-athletes.
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
“I salute our football student-athletes for maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average,” said MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E.
