Coach Simmons and I would like to announce that under the current circumstances of the Florida Panhandle, we will not be hosting the “Heels n’ Helmets” camp on Saturday. We have dedicated ourselves to helping the tremendous need in the area and have been aiding relief efforts daily. With that in mind, we could not in sound mind continue with the event, knowing that service to Leon, Gadsden and Jackson counties is desperately needed as much as possible to help our neighbors put their lives back together.
My husband and I have been blessed and we are committed to being a blessing to others. On Saturday, we will spend the day assisting Gadsden County with relief efforts, including cooking and serving hot meals. Recovery will be an extended effort because of this historic and catastrophic storm. With the Lord offering us an open week for football, we choose to concentrate our dedication to real-life issues of those less fortunate than us.
We encourage all ladies who would have participated in the “Heels n’ Helmets” football clinic to use that time this weekend serving the recovery efforts of our glorious state, especially the panhandle.
