QUINCY, Fla. | Weather played a huge factor on Saturday evening as the Florida A&M University football team was scheduled to participate in a full scrimmage at Corry Field.
However, thunderstorms throughout Gadsden County postponed Saturday’s scrimmage. FAMU head football coach Willie Simmons said the team will conduct a full scrimmage on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Bragg Memorial Stadium.
“It’s just one practice and we’ll get back out there again tomorrow,” Simmons said. “A lot of people showed up tonight at Corry Field, which is always great, but just disappointed we didn’t get to scrimmage in front of our fans. We will still get the scrimmage in tomorrow on campus.”
The Rattlers, who went 6-5 overall last season and 5-2 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, are preparing for their 2019 season on Aug. 29 at Central Florida. Kickoff against the Knights is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcasted live on the CBS Sports Network.
