Seven Rattlers Earn All-MEAC Softball Honors

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (May 11) – Seven Florida A&M Women’s Softball players earned 2019 All-Conference honors announced during the MEAC Softball Tournament.

Heading the group were a pair of first team selections, junior pitcher Kyaira Brown (16-11, 2.73 ERA, 117 strikeouts in in 205 innings), and senior outfielder Alexis Day (.336, 49 hits, 10 doubles, one triple, two home runs, 31 RBIs, 10 stolen bases).

Senior outfielder/designated player Tyra Bowers (.319, 53 hits, 41 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 24 RBIs and 17 stolen bases (in 20 tries), was a second team selection,  followed by a third team quartet featuring senior first baseman Taylor Rosier (.238, six doubles, 26 RBIs); sophomore third baseman Hera Varmah (.284, 38 hits, six doubles, one triple, two home runs, 23 RBIs); freshman second baseman Kimiya Watkins (.262, 39 hits, 29 runs scored, four doubles, three triples, two home runs, 25 RBIs), and freshman shortstop Seriah Brokenborough (.229, three doubles, one home run, 25 RBIs).
