TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Mar. 19) – The Florida A&M softball team (8-21) fell to reigning national champion Florida State (28-3), going hitless in an 8-0 defeat at JoAnne Graf field.
Brandice Boatwright got the start in the circle for the Lady Rattlers, giving up 14 hits, resulting in eight hits. The Lady Rattlers played solid defense, going errorless for the contest.
Leslie Farris, Carsyn Gordon, Makinzy Herzog and Savannah Parker each collected two hits in the win. Cassidy Davis blasted a three-run homer two straightaway centerfield in the bottom of the second inning, powering a four-run inning.
Herzog would get the win, going five innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
The Lady Rattlers will return to the diamond on Saturday, Mar. 23 as they open MEAC play with a single game against the Eagles of North Carolina Central. The game will begin at 1:00 PM at the Lady Rattlers Softball Complex.
