PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (May 13) – The FAMU Men’s Golf Team shot a 303 on the final day of competition to finish fourth in the 2018 National Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, sponsored by the Professional Golf Association (PGA) here at PGA Village, May 11-13.
Head coach Mike Rice’s crew finished the three-day event with a total of 919 (307-309-303), placing behind overall winner Bethune-Cookman (854), Savannah State (911) and University of the Incarnate Word (918).
In the Individual Medalist Standings, FAMU placed five players in the Top 25, headed by Prince Cunningham (71-81-73) and Mulbe Dillard (76-75-74), who tied for 9th at 225.
The remaining trio in the Medalist standings included Cameron Riley (82-76-78), who tied for 23rd at 236; Alejandro Toro (80-79-78), who tied for 25th at 237; and Mahindra Lutchman (80-79-83), who placed 31st at 242.
In the Individual Competition for Division One, three Rattlers finished in the Top 20: Chase Killette (81-79-82) and Dennis Minefee (79-79-84) tied for 11th at 242, while Blake Wilson (84-86-88) placed 17th at 258.
