Rattlers finish tied for 10th at Thomas Invite

VALDOSTA, Ga. | The Florida A&M University men’s golf team concluded the final round of the Thomas University Fall Invite on Tuesday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, tied for 10th with the University of Mobile, following an improved performance during the second round.

FAMU’s Logan Bryant had a solid outing, finishing the tournament 2-over par, carding a 75 in round 2. Bryant’s tournament total was a 146.  He also holed seven birdies during the two-day event, while finishing tied for 13th, eight shots behind tournament winner, Chip Thompson (138) of Coastal Georgia. 

Mulbe Dillard finished tied for 33rd, shooting a total of 152, while Mahindra Lutchman finished tied for 41st, registering a 153. Ethan Mangum finished eight strokes better on Tuesday, firing a 74 in round 2, for a total of 156. Cameron Riley ended his tournament tied for 57, shooting a 76 in the final round for a tournament score of 158. 

The Rattlers started the final round in 12th place after shooting a 308 during Monday’s opening round, but shot a 298 on Tuesday for a 606. Coastal Georgia won the tournament shooting a 574, followed by Point University (576), Keiser (584), Southeastern (592), Thomas University (595), Webber International (599), Truett-McConnell (602), Reinhardt (603), Keiser B-Team (603), the University of Mobile (606), SCAD-Atlanta (610) and St Andrews (642) to round out the 13-team field. 

The Rattlers travel to Atlanta for the HBCU Invitational Golf Classic at the Summergrove Golf Club. Play begins Friday.
