TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M University volleyball team had its 2019 home opener on Tuesday night as Mercer defeated the Lady Rattlers, 3-0, at the Al Lawson Center.
Roberta Todd and Annie Karle led the Lady Bears attack with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Nya Steele finished with 13 assists, while Karle wrapped up the double-double with a team-high 10 digs.
Inside the Numbers
> Florida A&M posted a .220 hitting percentage (19 kills, six errors, 59 total attacks)
> Mercer finished with 45 kills, six errors and 68 total attacks (.574 hitting percentage)
> The Lady Rattlers registered 19 assists, seven digs, three service aces and 3.0 total blocks
> The Lady Bears recorded 35 assists, 23 digs, nine service aces and 3.0 total blocks
Florida A&M returns to action this weekend at the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic, hosted by Louisiana (Lafayette). The Lady Rattlers open play on Friday against Eastern Michigan (Noon) and McNeese State (5 p.m.), before ending tournament action on Saturday against host Louisiana (1:30 p.m.)
