NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 8) – Four FAMU Baseball players were named to the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s Preseason All-Star team, selected by the league’s coaches and sports information directors, announced this week.
Named to the Preseason First team from FAMU were junior outfielder Willis McDaniel, and senior utility selectee Garrett Wilkinson.
Second team selections were senior catcher Jacky Miles, Jr., and senior first baseman Brian Davis.
The MEAC also announced predicted Order of Finish for the Northern and Southern Divisions.
Defending league champion Bethune-Cookman, was picked to win the Southern Division, receiving 13 first place votes, followed by North Carolina A&T, and FAMU, which had the other five first place votes.
Delaware State, recipient of 13 first place votes, was picked to win the Northern Division, followed by Norfolk (Va.) State, which garnered the remaining five (5) first place votes.
WHAT’S ON DECK: The Rattlers open the 2018 season on Friday, February 16 against Marshall University at 4:00 p.m. at Moore-Kittles Field.
