By: Florida A&M Sports Information

Tallahassee, Fl. (April 23rd, 2018) - After a big weekend against Savannah State University, Willis McDaniel earned MEAC Co-Player of the Week honors for week eleven of the MEAC baseball season.

McDaniel’s contributions started in the first game of Saturday’s double header, as he brought the Rattlers within one run with a two-RBI single up the middle in the seventh inning. After a Jordan Curtis solo homerun tied the game in the eighth, McDaniel came through with a walk-off solo homerun to left field in the bottom of the ninth inning.

He picked up right where he left off in game two, driving in Dallas Oliver with another single up the middle to give the Rattlers an early lead in the first inning. McDaniel then hit his second homerun of the day in the third inning, driving in Jacky Miles.

Game three of the series brought two more RBIs for McDaniel, as he doubled down the left field line to score Brian Davis and Jacky Miles in the seventh inning.

McDaniel was five for twelve on the weekend, driving in a total of eight runs on two homeruns, a double, and two singles. He also walked walked twice and stole two bases. McDaniel is the third Rattler to earn weekly MEAC honors this season, joining Brian Davis, who was named Co-Player of the Week in week six, and Thomas Nicoll, who was named Pitcher of the Week in week eight.
