NORFOLK, Va. (Oct. 26) - Florida A&M University seniors Desmond Williams and Marcus Barham were named to the 2017-18 Preseason All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball teams announced here Thursday morning.
Williams, a 6-6, 205-pound forward from Altmore, Alabama, was a second team selection. He averaged 16.2 points per game, and a team-high 6.1 rebounds, while shooting .483 from the floor, with 44 assists, 35 blocked shots, and 29 steals, which garnered him All-MEAC honors in March.
Barham, a 6-5, 185-pound wing player from Melbourne, Florida, was a third team selection. A year ago, he averaged 12.6 points per game, and 3.6 rebounds. He shot a nifty .378 (68 of 180) from three-point range, along with handing out 59 assists, making 33 steals along with 14 blocked shots.
That all-star duo will be counted on to provide leadership and performance for FAMU in 2017-18 under new head coach Robert McCullum.
MEAC PREDICTIONS: FAMU was picked by the league's head coaches and sports information directors to finish 11th in the 13-team Men's Basketball title chase.
