UNLV Runs Past Rattlers Saturday In Vegas, 108-66

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Nov. 11) – The FAMU Men’s Basketball team wrapped up a two-game season-opening Western swing Saturday night with a 108-66 setback at the hands of the UNLV Running Rebels at Thomas & Mack Center.

The Rattlers (0-2) had three players score in double figures, paced by Desmond Williams with 21 points and seven rebounds, newcomer Isaiah Martin, who turned in a double double with 20 points and 10 boards, followed by Marcus Barham with 11 points. Kamron Reaves added nine points and five rebounds to the Rattler cause.

FAMU trailed 56-27 at the half, as UNLV shot 48.7 percent (19 of 39) from the floor to 30.3 percent (10 of 33) by the Rattlers.

In the second half, the Running Rebels stepped up their floor shooting, hitting 56.4 percent (22 of 39) to 35.7 percent (15 of 42) for FAMU, to oupace the Rattlers on the scoreboard, 52-39.

WHAT’S NEXT: FAMU returns to the road later this week for a Deep South Two-Step, starting Thursday against the University of Miami (7:00 p.m. ET), ending Saturday against Mississippi State (1:00 p.m. Central)…. They will host Albany (Ga.) State University in their next home game on Monday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Al Lawson Center.
