MUNCIE, Ind. (Dec. 29) - The FAMU Men's Basketball team dropped a tough 75-54 road decision to the Ball State Cardinals Friday night, to close out a grueling 16-game non conference slate.
Desmond Williams led FAMU with 20 points, followed by Marcus Barham, who finished with 18 points, six rebounds and a trio of three-pointers. Elijah Mayes added eight points, while Isaiah Martin had five rebounds and four blocks Friday.
FAMU (1-15) led for most of the first half owning a five-point edge, 15-10 on a three-pointer by Barham with 9:17 left half. Ball State went on a 20-11 run to close out the half, taking a 30-26 lead into the lockeroom.
The Cardinals (9-4) opened the second half with a 15-4 run, building a 45-30 edge with 15:14 left, going on to outscore the Rattlers, 45-28 to seal the win.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Rattlers open their MEAC schedule at home Wednesday against Howard University. Tip off will be at 8:00 p.m. at the Lawson Center.
