DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 13) - The FAMU Men's Basketball team fell victim to a hot-shooting club from rival Bethune-Cookman in dropping a 99-81 MEAC road bout in Moore Gymnasium.
FAMU (2-18, 1-3 MEAC) fell behind the first place Wildcats (9-9, 4-0), 50-33 at the half, after the home team shot a blistering 69.2 percent from the floor to the Rattlers' 31 percent.
The Rattlers refused to yield in the second half, scoring 48 points to 49 for B-CU, as both clubs shot just under 50 percent down the stretch.
Desmond Williams led all scorers in the game with 28 points. Marcus Barham added 15 points and Justin Ravenel had 14 for FAMU.
Shawntrez Davis led a quintet of double digit scorers for the Wildcats with 22 points.
