FAMU Women Rally, Fall To Morgan In OT, 75-71

BALTIMORE, Md. (jan. 28) – The FAMU Rattler Women’s Basketball team  saw a valiant comeback effort fade in overtime Monday night, as they dropped a 75-71 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference decision to Morgan State at Hill Field House,


Freshman Morgan Mitchell's layup with 36 seconds left in regulation capped a 20-10 fourth quarter run by FAMU to send the game to the extra frame, tied at 59-59.


The Rattlers opened OT on a 7-0 run to take a 66-59 lead with 2:57 left, but Morgan State stormed back for the win, riding a 16-5 surge, as five turnovers and three missed shots derailed FAMU down the stretch.


Junior Dy'Manee Royal and freshman Mya Moye each scored 18 points, with Candice Williams adding 14 points. Royal also had eight rebounds, five blocks and five steals Monday.


WHAT’S NEXT: FAMU (3-16, 1-6 MEAC) opens a four-game home stand Saturday against MEAC leading North  Carolina A&T in the Lawson Center at 2 pm.
